Hi!
Does anybody know any technique to paint the wooden parts of 1:35 fusils and rifles?

When I get home this evening, I will look up the notes I took from a seminar given by Mario Fuentes about that very subject. His work is most impressive!

Hi antroig, Normally I use desert-yellow for base coat. When dried thourougly, aply a wash of oil burnt sienna. Let this dry for approx. 4 hours, then gently wipe-off with a very soft brush.
When it comes out too light, simply add some wash again, until you reached the perfect color-shade.
Good luck, John.

Have to agree with DRAGONWAGON. This is a very easy and effective way for painting rifles and most other wooden parts. The amount of brushing later, lets you vary the tone from light to quite dark. I have read articles from lots of excellent painters and they all use this method or similar, adding little tones of other colours in as well for varity.
