Hi,
Recently I bought Tamiya's 3-figure Otto Carius and crew set (89617), but since it's a bagged set, there's no instructions for painting and no information about the time period these are in.
So, what time period can I use these figures in? (not necessarily as Otto Carius, though)
Since I'm not an expert on German uniforms, I could also use some advice on the uniforms and painting. Are these the usual black tanker uniforms or something else?

Thanks

Ciao Eetu,
I found this webpage. Hope it helps (if it's the same set.)

Hi Eetu,

That is a nice set. Both Carius and the crew man in the wrap around tunic are wearing the lighter summer version panzer uniform which was herringbone twill in reed green. The third crew man in an all in one suit can be in reed green , or SS men had camo vesions I think pea pattern but check first.

Have a look at the following sight it has repo uniforms whic are considered pretty close to the real thing search under "Reed Green" or "Panzer wrap " that search finds a nice splinter version repro, but they would have been very rare - generally tailored for a officer to order.

Best wishes,
