Tamiya could generate a lot of interest very quickly by 'overhauling' their older kits, if we had new tracks for the universal carrier, sponsons and raised weld beads for the shermans etc. etc. They could generate a lot of interest/profit quickly and easily with minimal cost to themselves, at the moment their idea of an overhaul has been to add a couple of new figures to the same old kit.
Hmmm... Not so sure. Basically, the 'enthusiasts' market is a tiny percentage of Tamiya's sales. Not being nasty here, but as long as the kit looks more or less like the original vehicle, that's the seling point. Our 'part' of the market is small compared to the 'impulse' buyer's market out there. Why do you think Tamiya-San is TOTALLY disinterested in sites like this?
