I was wondering which countries used the t-72m1, wasnt it an export model ? Does anyone have any t-72 pictures where the tank is painted in crazy colors lke blues and oranges ? I would like to model one, however, it doesnt matter if the photo is of a t-72m1 or not, perhaps even a t-80. Thanks!

Actually, the T-72M1 and T-72A tanks are similar if not exactly identical. The "A'" is the Soviet Union-made version, while the "M1" is the version made in non-Soviet countries like Poland.

Patrick,
If you want some crazy color schemes, look for Concord's book on the T-80U by Steven Zaloga and David Markov. There are some different schemes in that book to give you some ideas.ie, gray and red brown over the standard dark olive. Dark purple brown with bright yellow bands. A desert demonstration scheme of bright mustard yellow with patches of field drab and black. Hope this helps. "Q"

Patrick,
Along with the Concord book that Matthew has mentioned there is also another Concord book (book # 5537 to be exact) in there Special Ops series that has photos of a Nagorno-Karabagh T-72 in a fascinating yellow/black on green scheme. Hope this also helps
Happy Modelling!!
