Ok, Here is the proof. It is not the most beautiful kit , but now I can prove I am at least working on stuff.
I know the plumbing for the fuel drums is not the greatest, but it is a start, and better than nothing.

This posting of images stuff is not so bad. Thanks for the extra help buttons at the bottom, very nice for us newbies to HTML.
Now to get pics of the BMP-1PG kit I just finished....

Good job, Jacques... I like it a lot; I think it looks much better than before. What did you do with the commander figure?
BTW, how do you like Kirin's conversion?
Now lets see that BMP...

The Kirin conversion is ok, but has some issues beyond even accuracy, like the gunners hatch and the fit of the DML kit smoke grenade launcher platform to the turret. It took a lot of fiddling and carving to get things to mate even this good. Otherwise, the instructions are so/so, but it builds into what you see, a decent T-72BM. And no PE on it at all!
As for the figgie, he is in the BMP as the driver now! I will get the pics up sometime soon.

Nice job. Formidable paint work.
Is the "gill" armor from the kit or the aftermarket? I did a T-72 a while back where I scratcbuilt the gills.

"You like me. you really, really like me." heh heh
Ok, all kidding aside, thanks for the compliments.
THe "gill" armor ont he sides is not the same thing as was found on, say, the T-64A. The stuff on the T-72BM is supplemental armour that is meant to not only degrade the penetration of rounds, but also be an attachment point for more ERA blocks. And, of course, to protect the driver.
The ones on the kit came with the Kirin conversion, but would not be that hard to scratchbuild. I am not sure what other T-series tanks use this particular "side armor" or if it has been used with earlier versions of the T-72.
