Here is the original thread

I've gotten some more done in the past few weeks-

The roof is just about done. All thats left is the final piece of armor on top and the IED device controller.

More interior work. I cut up the kit rear and commander seat bases to match the actual M1114 bases, used the ProArt drivers seat base, built up the partition (since my Mig piece was warped, like my roof) and added some ammo trays. I also finally figured out why the Mig AC unit hits the seat! I measured up the actual unit, where it was located on the partition, it all matched and I still couldn't figure out what was wrong. I never measured where it was front to rear...... the partition in the M1114s is roughly 3 inches back from where we all thought it was supposed to go (at the very forward edge of the fender). I moved it back, and the seat fit perfect. There is a roll bar that goes immediately in front of the partition on the real deal. I still have to add that.

I also finally decided my radio setup-
2 SINCGARS A/B models
VIS setup
MTS (w/ PLGR)

I threw it together for a quick overall shot. I started playing around with paint colors and primers, but I think I'm going to have to wait until I get home where I have an actual airbrush......

Questions/comments always welcome.

Your M1114 is coming along very nicely! I am amazed at what you've accomplished so far, especially given your location (and what I imagine is fairly scarce building time).

Thanks for solving the mystery of the A/C unit--I know it has affected several folks already, and I had filed it at the back of my mind as a problem area for a future build.

Well that explains that. Should've guessed, but I'll definitely remember that for next time.

Keep it up, this is looking great.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I really wish I could say I'm doing something exciting this tour like I did my last tour, but I'm not. I'm kind of attached to my unit rather than part of it. I'm only here for my logistics capabilitites, so I can pretty much set my own schedule. Sometimes I have a week of nothing, and sometimes I have a week straight of work, so my building comes in spurts. 5 hours here, 5 hours there......

Anyways, I got the spare tire carrier finished up last night. That took some serious doing, it took maybe 4 times to get the angle right, because its compound.

I got the turret shield started too, so expect some more updates soon

Some bad news and some good news.....

Bad first- Due to some unforseeable events, I had to mail everything I had home. All my kits, all my tools, everything. So, needless to say, I won't be doing anymore work for a while.

Now the good- I know when the "while" will be. And its sooner than I thought. So I'll be home and working again before you know it

Glad to see you are doing fine James and hope you get home soon. I was wondering if you'd ever send another update on this but know I know why. Stay safe.

I like how that turned out. Did you use the IBIS TEK ideal for your bumper and spear tire?

Damn it I’m pissed

It looks like you’ve found time to build far superior models to mine while sitting in the middle of a war zone and I’m in the USA with a cushy desk job.

Honestly man, amazing model!

Take care,
Noah
