Did the Soviets use Tow shackles on their T-34's the latter versions?
Like 1943 and such.
Thanks

By tow shackles do you mean the u shaped type used on KV and IS tanks? I have not seen this type on the T34 series. Early tanks had tow brackets similar to the ones on the Panzer IV's. Most had the big hammer head type.

Yes you are right.
Only on Early T-34's and KV series.
But I did see somewhere where they were on something can't remember
Thanks

Every once in a while you see a lug welded on the back lower plate on T34's that would take one of the shackles. I think Tamiya had this on the back of their T34 85.
There was a holder on the left front fender of many T34's, and most SU tanks that holds 2 shackles. DML has it on their SU series. Every once is a while you will see the shackles on the tow lugs of the T34's.

Jeff,
Glad to help.
If you have the money and like the T34's, get the new book. It may be exspensive, but the information and drawings are superb.
Thanks,
Randy

Jeff,
Yes, that's the book. I am really hoping they do one on the Su's soon!
