Hi All,
Following on from the Matchbox thread earlier this week - I got this reply regarding a possible reissue of the A34 Comet kit...
"since some times we are re-issue year per year some old Matchbox kits. Also for the
next years we have plans to re-issue some more Matchbox kits. So you can be fraught
for the kits of the next year. It is possible that we re-issue also the A-34 Comet,
but I cannot say it definitely.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards
Daniel Pasternok"
The English is a little shaky (but miles better then my German!) - it's the 'fraught' that's foxed me. I'll have to check a thesaurus for a possible synonym that might throw some light on it....
In fact this has given me an idea for a thread!
Cheers

Normally "fraught" means "full of or accompanied by problems, dangers, or difficulties" such as in "fraught with danger." It can also mean "full of or expressing nervous tension and anxiety." I guess they are using it like this, as in "You can be anxiously awaiting for the kits next year."

Well yes-but in this context the meaning still a little obscure. I think perhaps he's trying to say I can keenly anticipate future releases. I could ask my sister-in-law as she's from Freibourg.....it may be that the distinction between worry and expectancy is more blurred in the German language.

Fraught. Fruehde (sp) is German for happiness. Maybe he wants you to be happy about next year's re-releases. Tamiya has a similar policy...

I'm leaning on Henk's view of this.It just fit the flavor/mood of the message on the whole.
