I am trying to make some hay for a farmyard dio. So far I am using the bristles off a paint brush that seems to have about the right color. The problem is it is too shiny.

Anyone know how I might can dull the color or if there is something else I can use?

Thanks!

Hi Ken, You might look at the field grass by woodland scenics, theyhave a couple of shades that are perfect for straw/hay can be had from the model r.r. dept at hobby lobby or michaels,

Thanks John, I have a little bit of that. I was hoping for something a little cheaper.

What color of a wash would you suggest?

If there is a 99 cent near you .Buy a straw broom . If not stop by a auto supply store(autozone, pepboys, walmart. ect..) They sell little straw brooms to clean your car mats. That should take care of the color and the right look. No need to paint You just need to cut the straw to scale. HTH. Sk2
