Just saw the news on Perth, AFV Club is taking the Viet Nam Centurion out of production. Get them while they last.

Saw it too a few minutes ago. Why oh! why are they doing this? It didn't sell at all or is there any another reason to justify it's new status of OOP?
Maybe they will release a "Premium" edtion soon. Or maybe they will remove the Nato one soon and then release a 2in1 (RAAC/NATO)?

I am pretty sure the moulds won't go unused for long. Lucky me I got my kit some time ago. But there's so many Cent's possible they could make 4 in 1 kits and still have endless choice

When I got mine I was more concerned with conversion possibilities not as an Aussie Cent. I may get another NATO version and hold the Aussie for resale. Who knows whats coming next after the Israeli one.

I just checked Lucky Hobby and the MK5/2 NATO version just went up in price. Is it related to the other version going out of production? I wonder.

I wonder is it that they didn't sell well? I don't know the sales figures so I am only guessing. Or is it that they figured that they sold all they would sell and are making more room in production for other variants.
I say the following as only a personal opinion and don't want to offend anybody . My thought is IF they didn't sell well it was because they were versions that weren't as wanted by the general public. I would think more people would be interested in a MkIII for Korea and definatley alot would be interested in Isreali versions. Again only guesses and not intended to upset anyone.

Apparently the only only difference between the NATO and the Aussie versions are an extra sprue in the NATO box... you could still build an Aussie Mk5 with the NATO kit... so panic not dear friends

Another difference would be the gun? 105 mm nato gun vs. the 20 pdr mk B barrel for the Mk.5 aust.
I'm glad that I've got my aussie cent last year
Cheers

I did see it as a less popular option. I'm interested in British and Canadian vatients myself and will be converting my Aussie into one of those. Or if intrest increases I my get another 105 version and E-bay the Aussie.
They probably pulled it to free the line for other versions. Its only a few sprues difference it would be easy to re-release it when interest picks up.
