Hi
Ive been trying to view some photos of an IDF m48 but keep getting this error message
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home/kmadmin/photos/showphoto.php on line 254
Ive got no idea what this means except it doesnt enlarge the image, is this down to my computer or the photo site.
Other images seem to be ok.
Any computer buffs out therewho can help.
cheers
peter

Peter,
Sorry that means that the gallery is currently drawing more than 32MB of RAM on the server so try a bit later as it would seem the system is a bit overtaxed at the moment. I have no idea why it would only do it when you try to open the enlargement though. Odd.
Thanks,
Jim

"I need more power Scotty, MORE power!"
"I'm givin' 'er all she's got CAP'N! All she's got!"
Jim, perhaps this is a silly question but, 32MB of RAM? For the server, or is that just what the photo's are pullin'?
Curiosity.

Mike,
The server itself has about 2GB of RAM, but in PHP (the scripting language running in Apache, the OS) every application has a maximum amount of memory it can consume. The default setting is 8MB and we are running at a very high 32MB. Mostly because of the gallery.
You asked.

Yup, I asked, I got....k....2GB is kool....what I run on my PC (and I know, a PC ain't a server)....I'm happy....but, a server...? Okay...8 MB default....any way to xfer some additional RAM to a specific app? Runnin' 4x the norm for gallery (or such)...I'm sure I'm talkin' what you've already considered, but hey....I know a PC pretty good, but servers and their apps are kinda "new" to me.....
Thanks,
Mike
