I never post on here, but enoy reading and knowing there is others out there as crazy about this hobby as I am. I just wanted to say that myself personally I wish there was more variety in the 1/25th and 1/16 scale. I took a chance and decided to build academy's 1/25th Jadgpanther and now that I'm at the painting stage I realized at this scale how much more it had to offer me in terms of detailing and how much more weathering will stand out. I hate to see how full my house would be if they had kits like this when I was a kid. Yes it does lack some things, but its not like there isn't enough room for improvement and scratch building.

There are plenty to choose from in 1/16th scale! All of the Hen Long and Tamiya tanks, WSN and the conversions for them.

On ebay, you can catch the 1/25th T34/85, the SU-100 and the Centurion. Once in a while there is the Chieftain, the Panther A and G.

Then there are the 1/15th Bandai's ... four models to choose from!

So if that isn't enough variety ...

I picked up the 1/25th Tamiya Centurion a couple weeks ago at our clubs model show. I can't wait to get started on it. Never done any large scale stuff before so it should be interesting.

Yes I love that scale however they are hard (ebay?) to find!
What I found:
1/25 tamiya Tiger 1
1/24 Bandai king Tiger
1/25 academey jagpanther and panther
(they make etch grills for them)
1/25 Tamiya T-34
1/25 Bandai S-100
1/16 cheaper porsche turret king tiger
they make all kinds of stuff for that
I am going to tear appart A 1/16 RC Tiger 1
they also make stuff for that a s well!
Have fun!~

Yes it does lack some things, but its not like there isn't enough room for improvement and scratch building.

That is exactly the way I feel about 1/25 scale. I really enjoy scratching and detailing in that scale. However if you plan to show them at a show you might find others who don't take that in to account and will disregard your work. I have actually had judges tell me that my 1/25 scale models were "not good enough because they didn't have aftermarket parts" and were "the wrong scale".

Boy I thought I was the only one around who liked 1/25th scale. It's nice to see there are a
few more out there who enjoy the larger scale. I really dont know why everyone is so tied up with 1/35th scale. I'm sure the kit makers can get more detail into the 1/25th scale if that 's what the hang up is . It just seems so much easier to work in a larger scale ,and you can see it with out magnifying your finished model . Oh yea! you 'll save too! by not having to buy a camera .
