Few weeks ago I've posted a topic to ask information about plaster Tobruk pits, well, here I am again.
I did some moulding experiments and now I've got two tobruks,
this is the mould from the first one: it's not precise, so is the bunker. Its too small, but I really like the lines on the walls as it seems very authentic.

The second bunker had a mould from Lego. I had lots of probs with the 45° angle, as lego bricks only make 90° angles
The roof is also made with lego mould, That was difficult! Anyway, this is the result. Just need to sand it and paint.

Now compare the two, please tell my wich one is the best. (Also added a dragons teeth expiriment )

I'm a plaster-addict
Cheers, Capt Mallory

(@Mod: sorry, it's a repost, but I deletet the other one )

I agree..I am a big plaster man myself..The nicks, bullet holes, etc that plaster easily replicates adds massive realism..I like your bunkers especially the lines where the concrete has "seeped" thorugh the forms..

I think the one on the left is your best effort. Nice work, You did a good job showing the form lines from the timbers.

The one on the left is to little, I scaled it a few mm while glueing it all together. And if you take a closer look to the anglesof the walls, you will see that it's like this:
| | | is what it should be, but it's like this: | / |
Sorry about this primitive way, but we have a word in dutch: 'scheef', but I can't recall the english one
Another thing about the first one: i can't get a roof on it, as it hasn't the right dimensions from the plan. Let's say the first one was a bad expiriment, however, some things like the lines worked out better with this one.
(Don't take notes about my sucky english sentences )

Here's a new pic of my WIP. I airbrushed it with light grey, then I give it a drybrush with dark grey, a washing and at last some pigment wheatering. But, the MG on de top of the pit, does anybody knows how it's fixed, and where to buy the MG/ringstand?

I want to put the bunker in an El Alamein dio, with a crusader tank and afrika korps men. Any information or experience on this?
