Is the BRDM-2 turret and gun the same as you would find on a BTR-70/80? I have the Verlinden burnt out BRDM-2 but the turret and wheels are missing, I would like to incorporate this vehicle in a small diorama. I also have the DML BTR-80 that I did not use the turret. I have found it difficult to find someone that has the Revell BRDM-2 kit. So I was wondering if the two were interchangeable.

No they are not the same.

The BRDM-2 Turret had a 12.7mm and 7.62 mm MG's in it

the BTR70/80 had a 14.5mm and 7.62mm MG's

Would the size of the turret be the same? Is it just a question of finding the correct weapons and installing them? Thanks for your help.

Wrong. The BRDM-2, BTR-60, and early BTR-70 all use the same turret. Late BRDM-2's and late BTR-70's use the same turret as the BTR-80. The BTR-80 style turret had more elevation. They all mount the 14.5MM and 7.62MM. The orignal DML BTR-70 and the Zvezda kit have the style turret in it you are looking for.

Then I guess the Armored Vehicle Recognition site is wrong then......

no need to be a dick either when correcting someone.
