Thanks for sharing these pics... Looks like it is not a retool of the Mirage offering as some people were afraid of... It is also nice to see the armored domes for the driver and codriver are quite to scale and not as thick as the Mirage domes... they look like they can survive a direct hit of an 88
Seems to be a nice kit to me... now let's hope the price will be equally nice

It looks fantastic. I'm quite excited about this one. Glad I pre-ordered it from HLJ.
I was a little concerned it would have tracks like the Universal Carrier but the tracks look ok.
Cheers,
TimTam27

Hi Robert
Think I'll still finish the Mirage one, just for comparison. The tracks do look good, and as a bonus the load in the trailer has some 50l 'bidons' for refuelling scenes.

Good to see some pics of the kit.
The spare stowage looks good as to the tracks, trailer and 'head domes'. However, the fenders and exhaust guard still look a little 'over scale' like the Mirage kit.
A nice touch are the slight variations on build options they seem to offer.
Overall a nice looking kit and a worthwhile addition to Tamiya's line-up.

Dave, thanks for posting that link ! That UE Tracktor looks very cool. Cant wait til they arrive here in the States
Jim, thanks for posting those pics, too. Look at all the accessories they will include, and those 2 French Infantry figures look good as well !
Pre-orders have been in, and I'm waiting to get that illusive confirmation email that they will be on there way to my shop
Cheers !!

Some neat stuff from the big T - but note - Not One Modern AFV - Come on Tamiya gives us a break - How about an up armored Humvee, HEMMT, or go big - the new Buffalo mine clearing vehicle...

I like the figures as much as the tractor I think. Both look really good and great early war diorama possibilities.

Tamiya never retools bad Eastern European kits. All of thier kits are engineered and manufactured by Tamiya. They will occasionally rebox Italeri kits for sale in Japan, and in the past have reboxed Gunze kits for sale in Japan.

Sometimes (lately more often) those "bad Eastern European kits" are much better than the Tamiya offerings... And I actually liked the Mirage kit.
Ever since I switched from airplanes to armor, I have to say, Tamiya's quality in armor is not as good as in aircraft. (I guess that's the reason they escaped to the 1/48 scale.)

Tamiya is on a French 1/35 kick. Are they sending a signal that they are "surrendering" 1/35?
