Hey everyone,
I'm new to all of this and only recently began modelling, after completing a Fine Art degree I needed something to paint other than canvas!
I have learnt an awful lot from this wonderful site thus far and hope to begin joining in.
I recently purchased Tamiya's Leclerc and some after market parts to add a tad more quality but didn't particularly like the three tone green/brown/black colour guide.
I remembered seeing a desert tone Leclerc and something about them being painted that way for training puposes. I wondered if any kind soul had any more info on that or pics that I could reference for my build.
I would be most grateful:0)
Steven. :-)

Hi Steven
You'll find a few more pics showing United Arab Emirates Leclercs maneuvering in the desert (and many other Leclerc pics !...) on Olivier Carneau's website

Thanks Frenchy. Great site. Gave me some interesting images to use when whethering. I might add some camo netting like the desertised Leclercs had. Not enough modellers seem to want to build these things, I suppose its probably down to a limited amount of add ons available.

I found that close up view on Wikipedia, it may help you... That's an Emirati model...

Thankyou for the pic. My desertised Leclerc has been abandoned at the moment because I struggled both to find good pics of the camo netting and suitable material to make it with. But I might have another go using this pic:0)

The interessting thing in that pic is that we can see that this kind of "camo net" may be reproduced with some resin like Zimmerit... Should be a hard task but still possible ! (Yeah, I know, it's easy to say that...) =)
