Aloha everyone!!
Can anyone point me in the right direction for Auriga Publications Photo File book on the Ariete C1? I've done a Google search and have come up with Auriga's official site but I was hoping on finding a retail outlet or distributor here in the US that carries their publications. Futhermore I know I had asked along time ago about photos on the Ariete but didn't add them to my favorites. Anyone have photos of the Ariete in the Nato three tone scheme?
Thanks in advance!!

Hi Kurt
You'll find a lot of Ariete pics on Ferreamole website, including 4 showing one in NATO 3 color scheme :

Aloha Frenchy!
Those are great shots of the tri-color scheme. Is it just me or are the roadwheels painted that Nato Black too?
Thanks again,
Kurt

You're welcome Kurt ! I think you're right about the black roadwheels. In fact there are a few more pics HERE I had first missed them ...
PS : Great Models Webstore carries Auriga books, but the one about the Ariete appears to be out of stock ...

Kurt,
E-mail Don Mutford at Baseline Models ([email protected]) and see if he still has the publication. I got a copy at AMPS and it is a great reference that has detail shots as well as line drawings. Now to find the late 120mm barrel for my kit

Hey great ideas folks! Thank you both for the heads up! John you should check out Royal Model's offering for your 120mm barrell (if you haven't already). It has been said to be the most accurate representative for that barrell and it can be found through the Great Models website. Don't know if its a late model 120mm though
Anyways, thanks again Frenchy and John for your help on the reference.

HI Kurt
I think that the best choice is to contact Auriga Publishing directly, they've a on-line shop. Here's the link
http://www.aurigapublishing.it/libri_det.asp?ID=1
Click on Buy Now button, then click on the Pubblicazioni-Libri button on the left menu and you'll ready to order it. I've got that book and in my opinion is a very useful reference for every modern armor fans.
Just a quick note: there's only ONE tank in Nato schemein service with the Italian Army. It 's used for basic training of the new drivers and mechanics at the Transportation School in Rome.

Thank you much Gaetano! Great info. I'm contemplating what scheme to paint my Ariete so do you believe there's enough evidence to suggest that the Italian army will keep their overall "green" scheme as their primary color? Kind of a dumb question I suppose.
Thanks again for the much useful information,
Kurt

Right now all the operational Arietes are in the single colour green except for the one that Gaetano mentioned.
Other AFVs in Italian service such as the Dardo and Puma are in a three colour NATO pattern. Maybe when and if the Arietes go through a rebuild they will be repainted but it doesn't appear that there is any rush to do so.
