Now this may seem a bit of an odd question but then mine generally are . As part of my Eindhoven dio I've got one US para with a stomach wound with another applying a first field dressing. My problem is I have no idea what colour the field dressing is when its out of the packet as I've not been able to find a pic in any of my reference stuff. Only the sealed packets. Any clues gents??????

Hi
I am not at all sure whether this is right but my best guess would be a whiteish colour. HTH. Nick

Unless they changed from way back when to a couple of years ago, the bandage (gauze) portion was white and the part used to tie the bandage was OD or green or brown (sorry...I'm color blind).

Hope this helps a bit.

Piggy backing on what Mike said, they are currently white inside with a dark green outer wrapping. I have seen some that are tan to better go with the desert environment we're currently working in. I doubt that they would be much different in appearance than what was in use in WW2. Hope this helps. "Q"
