I like your attempt on the MERDC scheme. It sort of looks like a combination of the Winter Verdant and the Red Desert scheme. What did you base the pattern and colours from?
Too bad Academy didn't include all the rest of the dozer blade hydraulic resevoir and piping that goes on the left rear fender of the dozer mounting tanks. Did you have any plans to add this?
It looks like your searchlight is canted upwards. Shouldn't be be level with the barrel?

Nice. Have you freehanded the camo? I think the improved tracks would set it off.

Thanks for the comments . Yes the cammo is a free hand paint scheme . I've been looking at the search light , you are right it needs a adjustment . I picked up a set of the AFV tracks and still have about 1/2 a run to finish them up before painting . I'm also scratching up the hydraulic resevoir and the piping as well . More to come , Toad.

Well I got the tracks on this evening , about 80 trackblocks per side . They are the AFV club tracks after I got my act together they went together pretty fast . I might have to shorten them a link or two to get the slack out . Later on , Toad .

Toad,
That track looks a bit slack. Do you have your two end connectors and string to make sure that you got it right???
Good looking blade tank. Let me know if you need some refs for the piping as I have theTM for the M9 blade.

I can almost smell the diesel fumes. I can not think of any higher compliment. Dirty up and chip the blade. They took a beatin.

First side view has about the right amount of slack.Because of the span from the idler and sprocket to the first support rollers, there will be a small amount of sag.
And our TM said to use a block of wood, and a long string.

Very Nice.
Strangely enough , I recently picked up where I left off on my 'version' of this subject. I hope the Academy plow kit was easier to work with than the Verlinden plow. I will have to post pictures of what I have started.

I like your cammo scheme one issue though is too much sand. The MERDC cammo had ratios of 45% each base color, your green and brown and 5% each black and sand. Since the cammo was applied on the unit level though there was some room for idividual taste. I chalked and painted the tank I drove. Too bad Academy left out a lot of details like the release handle on the front slope. Also blade tanks had a pronounced forward tilt which isn't needed in your dio. The blade tank was usually the XOs so would carry the 65 bumper number.
Anyway keep up the great work, my M60 is stalled on the work bench to many honeydos.

Another nice build!
Time for me to show-off now. This was started about 5 years ago and I got around to painting the tires and guns last weekend.
IDF M60 with Blazer Armor and Verlinden Dozer Plow - hubba, hubba... The base kit is Academy and the blade is Verlinden. You can never have enough machine guns bristling from your tank!

Carl-- you built a superb model.

I regret that the real vehicle was a total dog. The blade and hydraulics were just too much for that chassis.

The only time the three blade tanks in the battalion operated without a problem was when we loaded them on a train and got the M-1s. I might also add that the Boatwright Maintenance Facility completely rebult those dogs prior to them hitting the train....but, I digress

Forgive me! Your model is very nicely done.
