Our primary computer has gone ka-flooey on us here at home so I have been unable to get online until now. If anyone has sent any important mail I ask that you be patient while I get it back online. I need to go out and buy a new OS for it since the old one was put on by a friend and I don't have a copy to replace missing or corrupted files.

Hopefully this won't mean we loose any files or old mail in the process.

Computers....gotta love 'em....or hate 'em.

Jim, does this mean anyone who's sent you an e-mail recently will need to re-send it?
I sent you the 'official' guidelines for the Warship campaign and an image I made related to the campaign. :-)

Cool, I just wanted to make sure. :-)

I made a better looking version of the image last night. The 'pink thing' was re-done, I got rid of the green bar on the bottom, and added the rules in... I'll upload it to my MSN gallery later today.

Mine is a Soyo........and I was a good boy and went the AMD route.....albeit its only a Duron 1.3Ghz....but the board and CPU run great together...

My only complaint with the Soyo board??? For some reason, when you install more than 256Mb of RAM....it wants to shadow 128MB of it. I have tried everything....have the latest BIOS, Soyo support was of no help as they just said to update the BIOS, and when I said I had already....they never got back to me....there is nothing wrong with the RAM as I tried it in another maching I have here, and it all works fine. But for some reason it wants to shadow 128MB of RAM....right now I physically have 512Mb in it.....but in the BIOS and in Windows...it only shows up as 384MB....drop to 1 256MB stick and it says 256MB.......add a 128MB stick...and it still says 256MB....add 2 256Mb and a 128MB and it shows as 512Mb instead of 640MB.....have only the 1 128MB stick....and it shows 128MB......why its shadowing the RAM is beyond me!!!!!

Any Ideas?

That's a bummer Jim, I had to do the same thing a little while ago. Which OS are you going with? XP? I went back to 98SE...just so used to it, and know it so well - inside and out.

Viper, Have you been into the CMOS setup? It should be accessible from within there.

Also, Soyo boards only recognize 8 bit memory chips. If a 4 bit memory (also known as high density memory) is placed on the board, the system will only be able to recognize half the memory. For example, if a 512MB high-density (4 bit) memory is placed on a board that does not support that memory, the memory will only read as 256MB.

Haven't used a Soyo board before what model Number is it Viper? And what OS are you running win 98 only goes to 512 then the problems start on Xp up to the 1.5 gig is good also what kind of ram DDR, SD, Rambus.Ken is right check the bios also check the Gate20 option see if set to fast and sdram cas latency set to auto or 2 3 ? Mother board drivers loaded!
