Looks like a quit huge canon to me...and at first sight it looks well done to!!
Nice winter setting to...i feel the freezing wind....nice done!! The trees are also nice and quite huge...what do you use for the making of the trees?
Maybe you could use more stowage around the canon and more handguns to...it seem that the "krauts" have no weapons.
Really nice job!!

I agree with Bill, Ronaldo. You have conveyed a cold feel within the scene...
Have never seen this gun before...
I think all parts are well modelled especially the trees, although next time the alignment could be worked differently, as there seems to be too much open ground between the treeline and the gun? A more compact scene would tie the elements in better in my opinion. But as you said this dio was built a while ago, so things may differ now!
Cheers
Brad

The arty piece is really nicely done, and unique. I like the overall size, it helps show case the model well. One thing about the size is that the empty space distracts from the overall apeal.
Generally nicely done

Brilliant job on that 17 cm Matterhorn, It's a beast isn't it... I take it it is the Precision models resin kit? Did you encounter any big problems while building this thing? I have the same kit complete with all the goodies as crew, groundanchors, Ammo and the protze.. And still need to built it.
I like the dio... and it really shows the massiveness of the gun.. Love the scene where the food is brought in.
Great job

I've bought the trees somewhere in the Netherlands,i can't remember where(i had a tel.number )i know you can buy trees from www.sylviesdd.com but they are expensive.
On most of the photo's of german artillery you don't see handguns (or stowage) laying around the canon. It's kept behind the canon in their vehicle.

Brad,Scott,
You're right about the open space, but it looks bigger as it really is,you can't see it exactly on the photo's but the ground isn't flat,it is only 2 inches between the empty shells and the "dead flowers" and behind these flowers there is a ditch.
Now in 2007 i wouldn't have built this ditch and put the canon nearby the treeline.

Hey Robert,
Yes it is from Precision models. After ten years i still can remember that i hated cleaning those tiny things,(that's why i built the other canon from Precision too),as those "things" (excuse me,i'll hope you know what i mean))on both sides of the canon where the german soldier is standing on,but with a and a lot of patience or was it with a lot of .....
Success Robert

Cool gun. Love it. Who made the figures?
Just a minor layout suggestion:
If you moved the aft end of the gun toward the row of dead flowers, about where the empty shell casings are, you could fill a lot of the empty space and keep the gun tube from hanging out over the edge of the base. For some reason, and it may be just me, but when elements of the diorama extend past the perimeter of the base I find it really distracting somehow.
Really like the overall theme and want to know who made the figures.
Thanks for sharing your work,
Shaun

Hi Shaun,
Sorry,i can't tell you,the figures are from ......because some bodies are from Verlinden, the arms from .....and the heads from .......and after all these years i don't know it anymore.
I can't turn the gun,i need a pionier bataillon to do that.
It's a pitty i don't have a camera at the moment, otherwise i can show you with an other photo that the gun tube isn't hanging over the edge of the base.
