hi there
There have been many cheap shots at VPs quality of figures over the years, many warranted mind you, but I bought a set of two a few weeks ago and have just put together one of them. Now apart from the big pouring blocks (which to me aren't a real negative, as they can be removed but just take longer) this is one of the best figures I have seen in resin in regards to crispness of detail and workability.
It is probably better than most Warriors I have, and almost on par with Taesung's creations
Apart from the fact he scale out at around 6'2" (!) he is near perfect for what I want...
Sorry I digress...
Now. Does Verlinden have a standard of colour for their resin? This figure is a light grey, not dissimilar from Alpine figures, whereas I have another set of tanker bits and pieces which are poorly cast with bad detail in a caramel colour... Knock offs? Hmmm...

In my experience all of my VP figures are in the cream/taupe area more along the line of beach sand. There is some variations I think more based on age and mix at time than lending to a knock off.
Put a gray figure next to a caramel color and I'd say the gray is the knock off purely based on my experiences. I just haven't seen a gray VP figure (Yet).

Hey Scott
I bought the two figure set US infantry officers ETO or something similar off Ebay. they came from a shop in Belgium, and although not in a cardboard box they had a Verlinden card and a ziplock bag. Repackaged for cheaper post from the original maybe, or knock off? Should I be complaining if they are, foe the fact they are of such good quality? (Save for the fact I wouldn't knowingly support the undermining of sculptors out there...)
Oh, if you go to my M4 Sherman thread in 'Constructive Feedback' there's a pic or two of a figure showing it's colour...

From my experience with VP when they first started and for quite a few years after used a creamy yellow sand colour for their figures and other parts but a few years ago they switched to a pale grey green colour which seems to show detail a bit better, its been a while since I bought any though so cant comment on what they use now.

Hi
I have a fair few Verlinden figures. The earlier ones did sometimes come in the yellow resin and sandy brown but the newer ones I get now are more like green grey.
Hope this helps

I too bought from the e-bay fella, the kits took five weeks to arrive, which is, I guess the length of time it took him to re-mold and cast them... He posted thousands of OOp kits on the Australian, British and US e-bay sites, and I was quite surprised to see the grey resin in Zip-lock bags, not boxes. The Small arms boxes I bought were out of shape, but the figures were really well casted. Should we be supporting these fakes?

I just haven't seen a gray VP figure (Yet).
I've recently received some VLS Corporation samples (Custom Dioramics, Warriors, VP) and I can confirm that all of these are all of a whitish/very light grey resin. These are all relatively new products.

Sounds like a recaster to me?
I would not encourage recasting in any way, but I can understand if someone bought in good faith.
