I was just wondering if anybody was going to be entering into the Hobbytown USA modeling contest? It's Saturday March 29th. Apparently is nationwide.

I've been to a local hobby shop show once and all I got were a bunch of kids poking and prodding my kit. Even had a piece of hand done Zimmerit broken off when one decided to "spin the turret" Unless you are going to spend all day guarding your model it ain't worth it. Now if they have a big sale attached....that's a reason.

I go, being a new model builder and all I find it fun. I havn't entered any large contest as of yet i've only been building for a year but last contest my 250/3 german halftrack took 1st place in armor and best of class.
I know these are feel good awards, but I really enjoy showing my work and seeing the other local modelers show theirs. This contest i'll be entering the M8 Greyhound I just finished, because I think it is a winner. :-)
my homepage showing my work is at....

Hey Delbert, I didn't know you lived in Arkansas. Nice to meet someone from the Natural State every once in a while Nice stuff you got there. I'm just starting to really get into models myself.

Anyway Delbert, if I get this Jagdpanther done by the 29th, I may see you there. Have a good one, and nice damn models!

Your right MrFritz...........i'm in PA now........ now if I could just figure out how I got here.......LOL
Hope to see you at the contest..... The spring contest last year was very well attended and even the guys at the hobbyshop were amazed at the number of entries and the fairly high level of skill displayed by local builders.
Hope to see your Jagdpanther there. Last spring I entered a halftrack and I finished it at 4:00 am the morning of the contest and last oct the geman halftrack I entered was finished at 8:00 am the day of the contest.. This is the first time I had one finished ahead of time.......LOL
later....

What are the rules for the HobbyTown USA contest? Just armor, or is it an open competition for a variety of subjects? Would you have a URL or link to the rules and announcement?

KF, there main website is www.hobbytown.com and it mentions the contest by saying check with your local store. If you don't know where the closest store is they also have a store locator on their site.
