To convert the new Italeri LVT 2 from US to British spec which changes do I need to make?
Change rear engine deck cover to late model.
Remove / replace the 50 cal with a Polsten.
Leave off armour plate from front of vision ports.
Anyother suggestions welcome. Also is there a crew interior conversion set available in 1/35th. Would an LVT 4 interior suit?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers
Kevin

Hello Pat,
I was beginning to think that only LVT 4's carried 20mm Polsten. The book you mention does show photos of LVT 2's and 4's. But if you have a closer look at the LVT 2 at the bottom of page 10, you can clearly see a gun mounting for a Polsten. Admittedly it looks to be an LVT 2(A) with roof hatches. But if there is one there must be more.
Cheers

Well spotted I missed that Kevin I suppose you could cross kit with the LVT1A toproduce a 2a but most of the 2s ive seen appear to be operated by 5th Assault Engineer regiment possibly because they were first British unit to operate LVTs & the polsten equipped ones look great .Good luck cheers Pat

Thanks Pat,
I have had an LVT 1A sat on the shelf for ages. It looks as though it will be put to good use now.
Cheers

Hi,
I'm bumping this thread because I am on the same boat (pun intended).
I have the Italeri kit and the new Resicast set with the Polsten gun and twin MG shields.
Any reference pics or drawings?
Thanks for your help!
Cheers,
Christophe
