I recently bought some 1/35 Scale Camo Netting for my Wespe. Out of the package it is a light gray. I saw a WWII Photo of a Wespe in motion with the netting rolled up and draped across the barrel near where the armor plating is. I am going for that look in a diorama.
My question is what color should it be as it looks very "new" and off the shelf if you will. I would also like to know if anyone has any painting tips, installation tips, and weathering tips for this. I know I have to use a spray gun, the material is very thin and fragile.

I believe the colour would be dark green or near enough to that colour .
This is not an exact colour to suggest but I would use this suggested format
The best alternative is to get some medical gauuze.
Cut a large section off it .
Dilute in a wash of raw umber ,black and green oil paint and thinners.
Drop into a wash of the suggested above.
let set for a few minutes .
Remove on to a piece of old newspaper .Let sit for a 1 or 2 minutes
Remove any of the excess thinners wash and imiediatley roll up when the gauze is wet.
Place over the gun to let it dry .
Then weather with pastel chalk to get the "in the field "colours.
Thats the way I would do it .
Cheers
