Aloha!!
To go along with my recently asked about Ariete MBT I wanted to have a VCC-1 accompanying it in a diorama. Some time back I was sure someone did a conversion set for this variant but although I did a Google search for it I can seem to find it now. Does anyone know if there was a conversion set made for the VCC-1 or was it just a dream?
Thank you in advance!!!
Kurt

Hi Kurt
It was not a dream : there was a Italian company called Models System Trade that had released resin conversion sets for the VCC-1 and VCC-2. But they went out of business some times ago....
Maybe you could find one on eBay (or buy MR Model 1/87th Camillino as a starting point for a 1/35th scratchbuilding project ) ?

Kurt,Frenchy,
Criel has a VCC-1 in production.I'd like to see a VCC-2 too.Never know of the company 'model system trade'...a google search does me no good.
Have you read the book 'Landing zone Lebanon'?There are pics of a VCC1 in a 4 tone Italian marine camo,it looks very interesting,do you guys have any knowledge of this scheme?
Thanks,
Bill

I don't know how I could have missed CrielModel's VCC-1, as it was mentioned in the listing below, along with Models System Trade's kit...Maybe I was still half asleep.....

Beware of the Cri-El VCC-1 conversion, I've bought two and built one, it's meant for the Italeri kit, but it's too short for that kit and the kit chassis has to be substantially shortened. This is trickier that it sounds because you have to cheat with the suspension/roadwheel locations and move the position of the suspension arms on the lower hull. If you use the Tamiya or Academy kit you have to shorten their chassis too.
I built one using the Italeri kit as per Cri-El instructions, but if I had to do it again I'd use the Academy kit, the surgery will be easier because the suspension arms are moulded separate, and not integrally with the hull like in the Tamiya and Italeri kits.
Cheers,
Christophe

Hi Kurt
Model System Trade produced both the VCC1 and VCC2 several years ago. The VCC1 wasn't a perfect replica with a dimensional error on the left side and a slightly overscale bollts but was better than the actual Criel kit. After MST closed the masters were purchased by Model Victoria but untill now there aren't rumors about the selling of a revised version of a VCC1 kit.
The VCC2 was a very good kit with the only flaw in the sliglty overscale side bolts. If you are interested in 1/72 scale there is a new italian company on the market producing a very nice VCC1 conversio set for the Italeri kit. The kit represent the version used during the 1982 Lebanon mission but there are future releases for the uparmored IFOR and KFOR versions.
Ciao
Gaetano

On top of what Gaetano correctly pointed out Historica Productions is going to release a new VCC-1 in 1/35th.

Hi Bill
I don't know which Federal Standard code match the S.Marco camo. In my opinion, using the Humbrol range, good starting points could be Green 102, Brown 62, Black 33 and Ocre 83 corrected to greenish hue. This is only theory, as you know your favourites wheathering techniques will alter greatly the final visual effect.

The VCC-2 in simply a M113 with bolt on side armor, firing ports and a commander cupola behind the driver. The general layout is very similar to the american XM734.

Seems to be his idiotic party piece, moving expired posts to the top by posting utter garbage.

i wanted to move it up to locate faster and contact the addressee. oh, by the way, i see you did your home assignment. very good! stick to modeling, you're a piss-poor piss-poor, phantomred4 out.
Off your meds? Here's a tip, since this all seems to be quite a challenge to you, book mark the thread. That means save it in your favorites. If you even know what I'm talking about. Bumping a thread just puts it on the front page for no more than a day. You might want to seek help about your rambling outbursts, mental health is important.
