Hey there everyone.
I've got my eye on the burnt out car by MIG Productions.
From a quick glance it looks good, I've yet to purchase the kit, but i want to know if there are any reviews out there for the kit?
Or if anyone has assembled the kit before.
Oh, and if there isn't any reviews, i'd be willing to give it a go if anyone wants.

Cheers.
Scott.

It would be interesting too to know the model of the car.... it is funny how we are so picky about the models , counting every single rivets, while for the dioramas we use a "generic" burned car.
It seem a '60-early '70 car, it would be perfect in a middle east war diorama anyway.

Hi,
Scott, unfortunatelly I cant help you because I havent built nor seen in flesh the Mig's car, but I wanted to comment Marco's post.

The Migs burnt out car looks like it is loosely based on 1950's fiat 1100, hindustan ambassador and simca 1300 ?
Well, with those cars I may hit or miss but the model is an amalgamation for sure, it has 1950's/60's body and later style side windows for example. Probably done not to pay royalties or something similar?
Then again I think that this one may become a runner with new set of tyres, glass and some tissue seat cussions.

The Mig himself could probably shed some light on the car style origins as he visits the site from time to time?

Cheers
Greg

haha, don't worry about being "off topic", you're not really.
Marco has actually asked a good question.
Anyone know what make/model this is?

I'm no Japanese car expert but I'm 99% sure it's a 1961 Datsun Bluebird. I've bought some time ago a 1/32nd scale kit of this car made by Arii, for a possible dio project (kit #62 Owner's Club series) and all I can say is that they look very similar.... :

Cant comment of the make of car its based on or anything like that, but I have the model(unbuilt) and it looks prety nice, it has some ncie dents and bumps down the sides, a suitable smahsed up roof and a neat little jog to make the frames for the burnt out seats. Theres a lot of waste resin to get rid of though. It could probabaly also do with a bit of detailing in places, just minor things.

It would look ok in a nam diorama, im going to sue mine for a Hue diorama with some Marines taking cover beside it. It would probably also do for an Israeli 6 day war dio, and perhaps Yom Kippur or Peace for Galili at a push. I dont think its accurate for both gulf wars.

that car would be perfect for middle east battle torn scenes.. iraq, somalia, and even south american countries would be a nice setting for that car.. im sure some of those are still rolling in cuba or somewhere where popular culture in cars isnt much of a fuss.. as for the model, i have no idea..

I remember when this kit was first advertised, MIG said something about it not being any specific make or model. It just resembles many cars used in parts of the world where there have been conflicts in the past few years... so it would fit in a dio in Lebanon, Somalia, Yougoslavia... etc.
