Hello,
during WW II the German, US and the British army had recovery vehicles and tank transporters.
What had the Soviet army during the war? I never seen a photo or heard, that they got recovery vehicles and tank transporters.
They used other tanks for towing damaged ones?
I hope somebody knows some information.
Thanks,Nils

The VT-34 with the winch and ground spade was a post-war design.

Ian and Jim,
thanks for that. I know about the VT 34, but is this vehicle a complete post war type?
Or was the winch and ground spade a post war modification?
Hm,it does not could be constructed during the war, if it is so then there should be photos of it.
There also existed a recovery version of the JS II. I think, this is also a post war modification to use some of the hulls of the "out os service" JS II?
Their first full recovery vehicle with equipment was based on the T 55, the VT 55?
