Quite good. What did you use for the water?

im not an expert but its good, but too plain, i think you need more effects on the boat (i.e battle scratches, rust and other thing like that)

Overall, its a pretty nice dio. The scene is well laid out, the story is clear and the water is top notch. What did you use? Everything looks to be well painted, but the weathering is the same on boats and vegetation .. a bit too heavy with the red dust maybe and too flat! More variation in the greens for foilage and brighter would have lifted this dio up a lot, and some splashes on the boat sides. Looking forward to more of your work!!!

The thing that strikes me is theres no interaction between the figures. Theres a PBR stopped a boat with suspected VC on it to search it yet noones got a weapon trained on it. Theres another small boat paddling off seemingly unphased by the whole incident but no disturbance to the water either around that or the PBR. Its nicely done but flat. Sorry...

I don't agree with you,i think it's filthy enough and i know these days some people must always have a lot of scratches and rust on there models but sometimes i'm really amazed when i'll see this.

Hi Frank,
I'll really don't know it anymore what i used for the water,it came out of a little bottle,i read it somewhere and bought it,it was the first time i made water and the second time i'll used it on a larger diorama it was a big disaster,it shrinked,i have never used it again.
The weathering is the same on boats and vegetation ?????yes it's green but i've used different kinds of green, also on the plants(the little plants are unmistakable lighter)maybe it's better for the diorama to exaggerate with this but when i'll look out of my window i'll see a lot of trees and bushes and they have all the same green color.
About the red dust,i have never used red dust for the plants,as i said the diorama is from the nineties, almost 15 years old,the red dust is real dust i can't remove anymore.

Hi Karl,
No interaction????,sorry, but i really don't agree with you either, there is one soldier checking the papers, the other soldier with the M-16 is watching. The soldier on front of the boat friendly waves at the girl that's looking at him.the other soldier sits by the machine gun, there is no danger and drinks a coke(PBR patrols were boring)
You have to use your imagination a little bit,the soldiers have allready seen the little boat ,no weapons aboard and it's not the first time these vietnamese see a PBR ,so ?????go in peace
I agree that the water is too flat, but there is no need for disturbance to the water around the PBR,on pictures or in real, when the boat is not sailing and there is no wind, you don't see any disturbance around the boat.

I think that if you took pictures of this in natural sun light it would look a TON better- the subtle colors are being over powered by the harsh indoor lighting.

Nice dio overall construcino wise.

I think it's really nice overall. The water looks fantastic, perfect for the "brown water navy". My observation about the weathering is that the boats are weathered the way one might weather a tank. They are very dusty looking for things that travel ON THE WATER. Some mud around, footprints, etc., but dusty seems a bit odd. Where did this dust come from? Rain streaks and mud splatter would probably make more sense. Not a bad dio, though, not by any stretch. Some tweaking would be good.

Hi Ronaldo. I can see you have used different greens for the vegetation, but the 15 years of dust, have made them very flat (I assumed it was weathering). More vibrant greens would have given this dio a better edge.
Scottīs suggestion about taking images outside is a good one ... would probably bring up the colours better.
