I am trying to find ANY 1/35 modern US infantry weapons and accessories to go along with a kit I am working on. Can any of you long time modelers point me in the right direction? Resin, plastic, metal...I can work with any of them.
Thanks a lot!

Hi, there are actually quite a few kits that may be of interest.
Firstly Tamiya makes a modern US equipment set which is what the OIF versions of the M113 and Bradley come with. This includes .5cal and 20mm GL ammo cans, packs and bedrolls CIP panels, ration boxes and a 2 dogs. Great value.
For guns things are not so good. But Dragon put out a Modern US infantry set which includes troops with modern armour vests and a good selection of weapons.
Legends produces resins sets of packs, rolls and ammo cans for the Bradley, Hummer, M113 and Lav.
M16's and M4 are produced in resin by Blast and Think180 (Now taken over by Mig productions)
You might also consider buying the Trumpeter modern US figure sets just for the m16 and M249 SAW.
I am sure there are more that I haven't mentioned.
Hope that helps.

Hi,
Hobby Fan of Korea has a nice set with equipment. There are also M-4īs an one SAW.
The good old Dragon weapons setīs are still one of the best you can get. The one from Blast are special for OIF, Afghanistan and Special Forces. The weapons from Verlinden are very bad like their "new" releases the last time. They are not good in shape and some Details are wrong. They mixed some modern stile with old Car-15 Vietnam flash supressors. It looks like a child put them together. from spare boxes.Realy bad. So Blast are the one i would highly recommed .They also have a weapons set with sniper rifles. Great stuff. The figures from this company are one of the best i ever have seen on market.

What is the kit you are working on so the timeline of the weapons, etc., can be narrowed down?

The kit is an 0H-58D Kiowa Warrior and the time line is Operation Iraqi Freedom. Im looking for M-4s and other gear (water bottles, etc) to put in the bird.

Ok then, now we see it is a helicopter and not an AFV.
Water bottles...Accurate Armour....choice of clear, green, or blue and they include decals for the labels.
M4- Blast Models...great weapons set.

The thing that you are going to want to be careful is that most small arms in helicopters are pretty simple. Plain M-16/M-4 with maybe a single optic on top. This is because pilots don't need all that extra stuff. Blast Models set IS great, but most of them were meant for infantry figures, so I recommend using one of the simplier rifles in the set.
Oh, also a small note, the barrels on it are incredibly thin - IMO a good thing - but it makes them very breakable
