Resicast presents a set of 3D printed British 2 galloon cans designed by Charlie Down
These cans were produced from about late 1941 until the end of 1942.
They were an interim can, part based on the famous Jerry can that was later copied and manufactured by the British.
They were used extensively throughout 1942 and continued in use through Sicily, and the the Italian campaign. They are seldom noticed, but when you know what to look for (rounded corners and Jerrycan type continuous seam) they appear to be very common. All the Petrol cans had a P pressed into the main faces, and had a diagonal handle on top. A simple screw cap was used for access to the contents.
The water cans all had a W pressed into the faces, but a proportion of production were made with straight handles, the rest made with the diagonal handles.
Used by all units in the 8th Army, including LRDG, SAS, Infantry, Armour, Artillery, etc.
