US AFV Additions

Some new stowage sets and a Jeep conversion are now available from Black Dog for some American AFV’s.

Black Dog has announced some new resin details for U.S. vehicles. This release includes stowage sets for the ASLAV and Paladin, and a great looking conversion set for an M-151 FAV.

T35122 M-109 A6 Paladin accessories set for AFV

It looks as if the diameter of the rim is way too large turning the tyre into a low-profile tyre instead of what looks to be a full profile one. The oversized rim also converts the rim from a solid disk with holes into a sort of spoked design ... Being forced to swap out the resin wheels for other resin wheels sort of defeats the purpose with the whole thing ...

Funny I was happy about the release but had nagging thoughts about those wheels not being quite right. Don't they look similar to the wheels/tyres in the Kirin conversion, which were too square in profile as well? And the unrealistic/simplified tire tread too... Here's an in-progress picture of my (since then finished) build of the Kirin conversion :
