Facebook is a far better medium for advertising the business and reaching people than forums now. Sorry, but thats how it is. I get far more business and exposure on there However, Forums are still a valuable place to reach people However; you create a false argument; its not either or. Its both, and print media still Any company that doesn't get on Facebook is missing out in a big way. I don't recall that anyone said anywhere that this meant companies on FB would no longer advertise in any other way?

I tend to find all my news on Facebook for modelling. Facebook allows companies to get news out faster then having to wait for the next print issue to be printed and circulated, or other sources processing it. I even follow print magazines, and they tend to post it quick enough on their Facebook page. Unfortunately, social media is here to stay, and it is a quick and inexpensive method of getting information out.

I would say that it is a matter of easiness as well... anyone at the company can create a facebook account and add news, on the other hand maintaining a website requires specialized staff, plus changes are usually slower and hard to code. Moreover, whenever there is an update you are informed right away, no need to check a site every x days. So, while I am not a FB fan, I understand that there is a big audience there, and quite easy to reach.

Chris,I'm not trying to make any kind of argument or insist that anyone stick rigidly to one form of media or another-basic economics dictate that you reach as many people as possible by any available means.I think the written word has a nasty way of being misinterpreted with or without the prolific use of emoticons or not.My original post was a dig at the sole reliance on one form of media and the subsequent misinterpretation of what was( or wasn't ) going on as a result of a lack of updates...... So,to clarify,use whatever means are at your disposal,Takom on FB is a good thing and I look forward to any news on new releases from whatever manufacturer,however it gets out there
