Maybe I'm not right but the only similar Canadian 3-tonner I managed to find in the Canadian "Vehicle Data Book" is this one: "Lorry, 3-ton, Bulk Petrol (3-ton), 4x4, 158 wb Manufacturer - General Motors Vehicle code - C60L-M-GAS" But it is different, of course. Also, it looks like the kit pretends to represent the "Alligator", or "Cab 12" officially. What is this bar on the grille then:

The 1942 C60L CMP 4X4 general purpose truck was made in Canada and shipped to England for war. this one has the bar in the grill but no chevy name. could be a truck made into a petro truck. but then a gain the box art does not have it as the same either so someone at IBG is sleeping on the job.

sorry guys but it is you who is sleeping on the job The PE grill with the bar across it is the cab 13 version while the box art shows a cab 12 version. The article also states that you can build either model from this kit so it is really a 2 in 1 kit. I will purchase a couple of these mainly for the cab and chassis as I can build a couple of Aussie vehicles in both cab styles by scratch building the rear body. As to theatre use it was used with various body types in the middle east, Europe, Italy and the Pacific. Also this 'Petrol Tank' version was more likely to have been an Airbase refuelling truck rather then an in-field model as the various airforce's had a lot of very low number units like this.

What is this bar on the grille then: [/quote] These petrol tank trucks were built mostly on long chassis (4x4, 158" wheelbase, 3 ton (C60L Chevy mostly, and some F60L Ford ones as well). I have documented only very few Petrol tank trucks built on short C60S chassis, and all these had fitted very early Cab 11. While chassis were standard production by GM, tank assemblies were supplied by other Canadian supplier.

Hi Libor be interesting to compare this IBG offering with your Mirror Models one. Any timing for your Ford F30 and F60 range yet? they would be good especially using your new Chinese firms injection moulding process

I bought this nice kit and also the factory foto CD from service publication.

On this CD i found 4 pictures of this trucks but with cab 11 ! So it would be interesting to know if IBG got pictures of their offered variants.
