Rye Field Model enters the T-34 world with an odd version, the Egyptian T-34/122 with a huge turret.
This conversion of the T-34 chassis added a 122 mm D-30 howitzer in a heavily modified T-34/85 turret.

The model seems to have photoetch details, complete gun and link&length tracks.

Wasn't there a kit of this many years back by Maquette ( I think ) where the turret parts were in resin ? This is no doubt way better, but I'm wondering about that as I have the Maquette kit somewhere in the stash.

Yep! 35035 LINK One of the contributors in the thread wrote: "The T-34/122 from Maquette is not exactly a example in excellence and since it is a rare kit you pay more of a collectors price." I consider myself lucky that I never bought this one They also had 35036: and 35037 With a little luck and some clever thinking about mold reuse we could get these other versions as well. No law against hoping is there ... / Robin

At least one of those resin kits the turret was a solid block of resin and the gun barrel was warped through a fourth dimension.

Add a handle to the turret and call it a kettle-bell ....

Yep - Robin. That's them. Have #1 and #3 somewhere. Don't think I have #2.

Now here's an interesting big beast that slots in well with all of the commemorative kits coming out from Dragon concerning the wars in the Middle East. The chassis on the actual vehicle must have been rather overloaded with that huge bucket of a turret and monster gun on it. Still, should be an interesting build.

Can it be showing the vehicle after a sudden break? It certainly looks like a "nose sitter"

Excellent news! I always wanted to build this tank but as others have shown there weren't great choices in 1/35. Here's hoping they include an interior and other variants like the T-34/100 and T-34/D-30.
