With An ever increasing number of new 1/72nd scale releases, The braille scale modellers now have a wide variety of diorama subjects to chose from including this new release from Reality in scale. Based on a wrecked building from the Arnheim campaign from late WW2, this historically accurate rendition of a typical Dutch house, could provide an ideal backdrop for a small vignette or form part of a larger diorama.
The Kit
Comprising of five resin pieces and a clear Perspex sheet for the windows, the moulding is very crisp and displays a great deal of detail. The brickwork and roof tiles are especially nicely rendered, as is the front door with its ornate window and well moulded wood panelling. The damaged brickwork at the back of the building is well moulded too. No interior details are present as such, but this is no real issue. Looking at the other comparable releases from Reality in scale other buildings in the series should complement this release and there is plenty of scope for scratch building extra details.
Conclusion
This is an authentic looking and well researched 1/72nd scale building that built straight out of the box would provide an ideal backdrop to a small armor item or set of figures. With a bit of scratch building or as part of a larger diorama it could be really quite impressive.
SUMMARY
Highs: Great attention to detail. The various exterior fixtures and fittings look spot on.Lows: Maybe a few interior details wouldn't have gone amiss.Verdict: A very well cast and sculpted diorama accessory, with accurate details and plenty of scope for scratch building.
