introduction
BRAVO-6 started business at the end of 2008 with Platoon movie characters and approaching his sixth year on market,
Vladimir Demchenko strikes again with another famous movie - FURY. He finished sculpting 5 main characters before initial release.
The film takes place in World War II ETO in April 1945. A M4A3E8 Sherman tank called Fury and its five-man crew, commanded by U.S. Army sergeant in the 2nd Armored Division named
Wardaddy, are assigned on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, they face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Germany.
First figure of the series
B6-35108 U.S.Tank Commander(1) 1944-1945 depicts US Army Staff Sergeant Don "Wardaddy" Collier acted by Brad Pitt sitting on the hull of his Sherman .
box
Figure comes in brown cardboard box labeled with a photo of the assembled and painted figure. Body and other parts are inserted seperately into two small plastic zip-lock bags.
figure
Sculpted in crisp details, it comes in 4 pieces. Resin quality is very good and casting is superb. No air bubbles, flesh resin, casting mistakes or visible seamlines. This is another prime and paint figure from BRAVO-6. All you need to do is to remove parts from blocks, no cleanwork with X-acto or sandpaper will be needed.
Parts ;
Head : Facial details are extremely well defined showing 100% alikeness to the character. I liked the forehead lines and regulation haircut so much. If desired, scars on both cheeks can be added. Not much to say about this head as compared with a Wardaddy photo. Great job Vladi.
Body : Over his wool shirt, he wears 1st Pattern Tanker Jacket aka Patton’s jacket. It is a windbreaker design, waist cut medium weight jacket with two external patch pockets with horizontal openings and zipper front. The material is heavy khaki or OD color. If khaki as in this figure, the lining is mustard brown while the OD jackets have a lining of the same color. Collar, waistband and cuffs are knit wool. Details of the uniform and cloth folds, even zipper are very well defined.
He carries a leather armpit holster on the left side. Pistol seems to be a Smith&Wesson M1917. If you want to show advanced painting skills on this figure, you can paint the pistol with Sweetheart stock as in the movie.
He wears M1938 Combat field trousers with two side seam pockets and two rear hip pockets. Trotters are inserted inside high boots. As for the footgear, he has Cavalry Boots, also used by Harley Davidson MP riders and high-ranked officers like Patton. This legging top laced boots were made of elk leather and was tightened with 3 straps and buckles. A German Close Combat Trench Fighting Knife Nahkampfmesser is inserted to the right boot.
Arms : They are posed to put on his thighs with hands placed together between the legs. Cloth folds, wool knit cuffs and M1938 Airborne Gloves are well sculpted. Places to paint rank patch on the right, insignia and rank patches on the left - Staff sergeant rank & 2nd Armored Division are marked on the figure.
conclusion
Briefly, this is really Brad. :) I can say this is an extremely nice sculpted and cast figure with a great alikeness to movie character. Good to know the other members of crew are already on the way to create a FURY scene. Figure has a seperate head which allows to make him any WWII U.S. Tank Commander with a head replacement.
Very Highly Recommended
