Introduction

Armor35 specializes in 1/35 models of Soviet workers and peasants and soldiers of The Workers and Peasants Red Army, as well as Soviet Railways subjects, circa The Great Patriotic War of 1941-45. Driver, item 35149, is a 1/35 resin wheelman of a commercial vehicle. Modellers have identified a void between warriors, weapons, and the people they protect.

With the growing number of subjects like the MiniArt Soviet bus, Driver should be a popular figure. Unless the high boots are unacceptable, Driver looks like he could be worked into almost any European setting of the era.

Driver

This figure is sculpted by Anishchenko Dmitriy. It consists of a separate hand for an otherwise complete body. Those parts are contained in zip-lock baggies held in a small box.

Like so many of Armor35's figures, casting quality is clean and top-notch with no air pocks, mold seams or flash. The figure features sharp and crisp casting with excellent undercuts and raised detail.

The figure is sculpted in a natural stance, at rest.

Perhaps except for the boots, Driver looks like he would fit into most any European nationality in the middle Twentieth Century.

Detail

Driver's face is very detailed with amazing eye and nose detail. He is crowned with a soft cap and dressed in a sweater, leather jacket, pants and knee boots.

The sweater portraits a rough knitted pattern. Clothing detail includes buttons, seams, and convincing folds.

Painting and Assembly Instructions

Not uncommon for resin figures, there are no painting and assembly instructions except for the box art.

Assembly should be easy as Armor35 sculpts the parts and then presses them into the figure, leaving an indention into which pieces fit without uncertainty.

Conclusion

Armor35 has sculpted and cast yet another interesting civilian subject for the era and area so popular with WWII modelers. It should be popular with modelers of the growing line of Soviet commercial vehicles.
