Fahrzeug Profile No 71 looks at the history of Panzerjägerkompanie 130 from 1959 to 1997. The text in this title is in German only; I see that as disappointing from an informational viewpoint. That said the images do make up for this weakness to some extent. The format is A4 in size and supplied as a portrait publication. The title consists of 48 pages and these are a good quality semi-gloss offering. The cover itself is made of a sturdy card in a gloss finish, the images printed on the card could be considered as additions to the title. The text is limited as regards the dedicated text, but the captions should make up for this.
The pictures in this title cover four decades and so provide a good selection of hardware where the vehicles are concerned. The images also provide a good reference for the uniforms as the decades roll on. Each of the images is provided with a good caption judging by the quantity of text that I cannot read. The quality of the images is very good throughout the publication; most of the photographs are in black and white, but some colour photographs have made it in to the mix, especially so in the more recent past.
I quite like the titles they release from a photographic reference point of view, but this is harmed by the lack of text in English as potential customers go. This could be resolved by providing at least the captions in English as well as German, I hope that UNITEC consider this approach with future releases.
Conclusion
If you can read German, then this title should meet most requirements as regards the Panzerjägerkompanie 130 and to a slightly lesser extent most German units of the period covered. For those that cannot read German, the photographs are all of a good quality and offer very good visual reference, but the inability to understand the captions will limit their benefit.
SUMMARY
Highs: Very good quality photographs throughout the title.Lows: The text being in German only is disappointing.Verdict: It depends on what you are looking for from a reference point of view as regards its value.
