introduction
Kagero usually concentrate on aircraft subjects, having relatively few land vehicles. This book is one of the Topshots series, and is aimed purely at the modeller.
contents
The book comes as a small soft cover, landscape format booklet. There is one page of text, with a brief history of the Opel Blitz, then it's straight on the photographs! There are 165 of these, with up to 5 on a single page. Most photographs are captioned in English with a polish translation. With a publication of this size, 5 on a single page sounds like the images might well be too small to be useful, but I found them satisfactory. 67 of the photographs are black & white, but they are just as useful as the colour photographs in giving complete close-up coverage of this truck, and I do mean
complete coverage! There are good shots of underneath and the drive train, and the engine compartment and driver's cab are comprehensivley covered. In fact, that's where the only problem might be. All the photographs were taken from a fully restored example, privately owned. I've no doubt that when these vehicles were in use, there were many variations. That said, the book is still useful, and at this price....it's practically a give away!
conclusion
As a walkaround, very useful indeed. If you want reference pictures in order to be able to add extra detail to your Opel Blitz, at a very affordable price.....then this is for you.
