About Jim Starkweather (staff_Jim)
FROM: NEW HAMPSHIRE, UNITED STATES

I started building models in 1971 when I was 6. My first model was a 1/32 P-40 Warhawk. Revell I believe. From there I moved onto the standard cars, Apollo spacecraft, and other kid orientated kits. I don't know what got me started on Armor. I must have seen a Monogram tank kit one day and said "Mom...

A very nice Dragon Tiger,So diffrent then the European Tigers with its Trop Color Scheme.I'm looking forward to using this in Big Cats IV.Only downside for me is the DS tracks which I am swapping out with Spade-Ace.

What makes you think that European Tigers didn't use the Tropical colour scheme?
MAY 27, 2016 - 11:51 AM
Not to be a smart a55 or anything. But how can anyone know that this Tiger isn't Grey, brown, or dark yellow? Gaz

We can't know for sure, but we do know that it was manufactured before "dark yellow" was introduced; that it wasn't dark enough to be Dunkelgrau when it was new and clean; and that it went to s.Pz.Abt.505 whose own combat diary speaks of new Tigers arriving in "tropical" scheme. David

Thank you for answering my curiousity, David. Gaz

But, what exactly was the 'tropical' scheme, was the base colour a brownish colour? A greenish/gray colour? I'm always a little confused by this ref to a tropical scheme tbh. [/quote] Tropen is RAL 8000 and RAL 7008 see refrence LINK

this new dragon tiger 1 other example of the armored formations of the "afrika-korps".
MAY 28, 2016 - 04:01 PM
The Tigers belonged to Von Arnim's 5th Panzer Army. They were not part of Rommel's Afrikakorps. David
