introduction

Shooting with cameras rather than guns, photographers act as the eyes of the military. Whether taking motion pictures or still photographs, oftentimes serving in the thick of the action, military photographers have produced scores of images for the purposes of strategy and intelligence, mapmaking, and simply to document historic moments capturing some of the most iconic images of Vietnam War.

One of the latest releases of BRAVO-6 B6-35086 U.S. Photographer Nam includes a kneeling figure posed to take a photo with his camera and carrying another one on his neck.
packing &casting

Kit content comes well packed in standard light brown cardboard box labeled with a photo of painted figure. Body part and other small parts like arms and camera parts are split into two transparent bags. Resin quality is good with no casting mistakes. Details are clean and sharp. No need for a serious cleanwork, just a few seamlines on the arms and backside of legs.
figure

Figure is sculpted by Vladimir Demchenko in 1/35 scale and cast in grey resin. It comes in 6 pieces; Body, seperate arms, camera and lenses.

  • Posed to kneel to take a photo, main part is body with head. Facial details, hair, moustache and open mouth are well represented. He wears tropical jungle uniform of jacket with two chest and two lower bellows pockets - all with flap covers, trousers and carries an utility belt on his waist. Strap of the camera carried on neck is cast on the figure. As for footgear; he has canvas-leather combined Vibram boots. Trotters are inserted into boots. Uniform details, wrinkles and folds are well defined.

  • Right arm with upfolded sleeves is posed to hold a camera with his finger on shutter button. Both cameras of the figure are the legendary camera of Vietnam War ; Nikon F. Improving the existing technology, Nikon F was built to make the user operation much easier and giving options for a huge range of lenses and accessories. One revolutionary feature was the ability to add a motor drive to the camera allowing the photographer to shoot up to 4 frames per second, a first in a 35mm SLR, this combined with its range of high quality lenses made the Nikon extremely attractive to war journalists and photographers. Details of the cameras are very well defined.

  • Left arm with a wrist watch is posed to hold the lens of the camera to focus.

  • Nikon F camera will be assembled to the straps on the chest of figure.

  • Lenses will be glued to cameras.
    conclusion

Useful figure for all Vietnam War scenes. It can be used in action or at rest dioramas.
