Aber's Soviet 902V "Tucha" 81mm Smoke Grenade Launcher is a small but useful detail to replace the invariably bland smoke launchers in kits. The package contains twelve tubes, twelve caps, and a tiny PE fret holding twelve discs that fit inside the caps. The tubes are turned brass and show some detail, including being drilled out so you can show an empty one. These things are small. The caps are about three mm in diameter. The tubes are 7mm long. Use care! One of the caps rolled off my table and into the fifth dimension when I opened the package.
Aber did the packaging well. Cello hang bag, a second sealed bag inside holding the pieces. Instructions are minimal and actually show the pieces better than I could photograph them.
To install the tubes, drill a small hole and insert the pin on the base of the tube. It's a small set that will add a degree of verisimilitude to any tank or IFV.
I really like this set. It does represent a Russian object, but it's generic enough that you could improve most post-war tanks without a problem.
SUMMARY
Highs: Good detail, scale bore, easy to install. Very visible accessory on tanks.Lows: Small parts potentially elusive. Adding a lanyard to the cap would be a challenge.Verdict: Excellent choice for that last bit of accuracy.
