introduction
As formerly mentioned in
LRE-35285 and
LRE-35286 Big Size German helmets reviews; Germany produced steel helmets in six different sizes marked in even numbers from 60 to 70 during World War II. They also produced helmet liners marked from 52 to 63 which each helmet shell could accommodate one of two different liner sizes. For example, a size 64 cm medium shell could accept a 56 cm or 57 cm liner band and leather.
Live Resin lately released
LRE-35282 German helmet liners set for standard size M42 Stahlhelm and now they release another set for Big Size helmets.
LRE-35287 includes 6 helmet liners based on a 3D scan that will fit Big Size World War II German Helmets.
review
The set is served inside a folded cardboard cover and a zip-lock bag including one sprue with liners is stapled to the cover. Both sides of the cover show information and photos of the content. Though six liners is served on this set, it is mistakenly written on the cover that kit includes 7 liners.
There are six 1/35 scale, cast in grey resin German helmet liners in the kit served on a casting block, Liners can be easily removed from sprue.Resin quality is very good, details are very crisp and clean. Details like seperate leather flaps, holes and drawstring are well defined.
To check fit of liners to helmets, I used a Live Resin Big size helmet and took photos. Please remember that when removing helmets from casting blocks; first cut the part connecting helmet and block, then clean the pin inside the helmet which makes it harder for this process. Otherwise, helmet can be cracked or broken.
Liners make a good fit to the helmets as you may see on the photos.
conclusion
This is a nice kit to detail your Big Size German helmets and display them showing inside as you add D-strings and chinstrap parts. It is noted on the cover that they can be used for Live Resin Big Size helmets but I think these liners will also used for the helmets of 54 mm or 1/32 scale German figures.
