Introduction:

All in Resine is a brand new modeling company from Spain, specialized in producing 3D printed accessories in different scales. The company uses a high-end 3D printer with a resolution of 16 microns per layer, offering super quality 3D prints with competitive prices to the modeling market.

This review covers one of the first 1/35 scale releases from the company: Spine Board Type 2 (AC5003).

Review:

The Spine Board Type 2 (AC5016-06) is packed in a simple zip-lock bag with a CAD box art image showing the particular type of board included in the set. The set consists of a single 3D printed piece. Upon closer inspection I was very impressed with intricate shapes and contours wonderfully delivered in scale… something like this is not possible to be produced in resin. The printing lines are miniscule and barely visible. A coat of primer did reveal some irregularities on the surface, so I additionally cleaned the piece using fine-grit sandpaper and assessed the result under another coat of primer. Very nice!

This model represents KEMP 18’’ AB Spine Board. Made of one piece polyethylene, the heavy-duty spine board has dimensions of 184 x 45 x 6 cm (72" x 18" x 2.5") and features 21 handholds and 8 pins for strapping. The bottom of the board has three built-in runners keeping the board slightly raised off the ground for easy access to handholds. The company did their homework well, as this 1/35 set offers an accurately scaled spine board, replicating the shape and features of the real spine board perfectly.

Conclusion:

Spine boards are used by emergency services worldwide. Being shorter and more maneuverable than standard military stretcher, spine boards are also used by military forces, with numerous photos showing US vehicles in Middle Eastern theater of operations sporting the boards.

Spine Board Type 2 (AC5003) is one of several different spine boards offered in 1/35 scale by All in Resine. The printout is very nice with perfectly delivered contours and details, and barely visible printing lines. Under a coat of primer and some paint, this spine board can easily turn into a colorful focal point on your modern US vehicle models.
SUMMARY
Highs: Very complex shape nicely delivered in scale. A useful addition to modern military vehicles.
Lows: Some thin printing lines.
Verdict: Highly recommended.

About Mario Matijasic (Maki)

You wonder how did this addiction start? I was a kid when my dad broght home a 1/72 Concord airplane; we built it together as well as couple of other airplanes after that. This phase was just pure fun: glue, paint, decals in no particular order... everything was finished in a day or two. Then I disc...
