Paracel Miniatures formerly released 1/35 scale resin cast Middle East tankers, casualities and tank riders figures and lately Street fighters. Figures are supposed to be FreeSyrian Army fighters but can be used for many purposes of this region and period.
After
MW3520 Team Leader, second figure is
MW3521 Blind Fire depicting a young guy on his knees firing his AK-74 without targeting.
packing
Figure comes in standard cardboard box of the company labeled with a photo of painted figure. Body and rifle are seperately inserted into transparent zip-lock bags and rifle is secured with a small cardboard inside the bag to avoid unexpected damages.
review
Figure is sculpted in 1/35 scale by
Giang Xuan Le - Janleo and sample was unusually cast in lose green color resin - grey primed for review. Parts are represented with easy to remove blocks. Casting is quite clean and I had to sand a few seamlines on the hair, legs, knees and on the rifle. There was a very small gap on the right shoulder to fill.
Posed kneeling to fire his rifle over his head, figure comes as two parts ; full body and rifle with right hand.
Facial details are well defined reflecting a young fighter with long hair and beard. He wears a T-shirt with short sleeves painted as a Puma brand on the boxart and blue trousers maybe a jeans with two slit pockets with flap covers on the back. He can be painted in different color choices as this one has civilian clothing not a standard uniform. Over his t-shirt, he has a AK chest rig with 4 big pouchs and 2 small pouchs on sides. Folds and wrinkles of clothing, pouchs and shoulder crossed straps of the chest rig are all well defined. As for the footgear, he has low heel shoes. Arms are posed to fire his rifle over his head and a thick wristband is sculpted on the right arm.
He carries an AK-74 without stock. Right hand is cast on the rifle and makes a godo fit to the wrist. Details on the rifle and taped magazines are quite well represented.
conclusion
A nice figure to display as firing behind a ruin, concrete block or car. Less parts make assembly easier and they fit well. It will be a nice additon to create Middle East conflict scenes with other modern war figures of Paracel Miniatures.
Giang Xuan Le has an album with photos of Syrian Conflict that can be a good reference for painting Middle East figures. If interested, his War Zone - Middle East album can be seen here.
