Plus Model is an aftermarket scale model company from Czech Republic, with a catalogue full of very useful accessory sets for dioramas and vignettes. This review covers a 1/35 scale set of household refuse typical for urban settings: Trash (486).
Review:
The set is packed in a hard cardboard box, featuring a large photo showing contents of the set. Opening the box reveals two sealed bags, one containing resin pieces and the other with a sheet of decals.
The set includes 39 pieces cast in resin. The resin is very nice; close inspection reveals no casting imperfections with just a small amount of flash residue to be cleaned using the back of an X-acto blade. A piece of cardboard box flap was damaged in transport, but I managed to find the broken part in the bag and glued it back. The details on the pieces are sharp and nicely delivered. Bottles are cast in transparent resin, providing realism in depicting glass and clear plastic… a big plus in my book.
The pieces portray all sorts of modern day refuse: plastic trash bags in various sizes, carton boxes, different food boxes, plastic and glass bottles, soda cans, used pot, newspaper bundle, watermelon, old boot and… a teddy bear. What kind of a person throws away a teddy bear??? Also included is a small rat, a very useful addition to the set.
The decal sheet consists of various brand labels and stickers. The print is good and complements the refuse items really well, offering some colorful variety and even more realism to the pieces.
Conclusion:
Trash set from Plus Model provides a wide selection of refuse items in 1/35 scale. Consisting of 39 resin pieces, the set provides a great value for the money and should be a welcomed addition to many modern day dioramas.

You wonder how did this addiction start? I was a kid when my dad broght home a 1/72 Concord airplane; we built it together as well as couple of other airplanes after that. This phase was just pure fun: glue, paint, decals in no particular order... everything was finished in a day or two. Then I disc...
