Inspired by Syrian War photos, Giang Xuan Le sculpted a series of Street fighter figures that can be used both as Syrian Arab Army or Free Syria Army soldiers. The figures can also be used for some other MiddleEast conflicts maybe Chechnya.
Fifth figure of Paracel Miniatures Middle East under fire series is MW3524 Street Fighter-5 Loading with his irregular military clothing in prone position.

Figure comes in standard cardboard box of the company labeled with a photo of painted figure. Body and rifle are seperately inserted into transparent zip-lock bags and rifle is secured with a small cardboard inside the bag to avoid unexpected damages.

Figure is sculpted in 1/35 scale and cast in grey resin. Sculpting is nice in crisp details, casting is clean with no mistakes but there will be a need to remove seamlines inside of legs and on the rifle. Figure is served with casting block and seperating figure from casting block always been a pain for me on prone position figures. You may need a serious effort for this or use it by filling around the figure by putty to make the ground.

Loading his rifle in prone position, figure comes as two parts ; full body and rifle.

  • Facial details are well defined showing common facial features of Middle East men like protruding and wide forehead, beak nose and thick lips. Hair combed back and beard are nicely sculpted. He wears a military type parka with hood and two waist pockets with flap covers. A Kufiya/ Shemagh is wrapped arond his neck and he has a AK chest rig under his parka. Trousers are also military type with cargo pockets on both sides with can be painted in different camouflage options. As for the footgear, his shoes look like loafers.

Right arm is posed to take a magazine from his chest rig to load his rifle.

Left arm is on the ground to hold the rifle.
  • He carries a fixed stock AK-74. Seamlines especailly under rifle needs to be removed. Boxart shows the figure with a metal stock assault rifle but company explained that AK versions may vary inside kits. Flash hider, front sight housing, rear sight and charging handle details on the rifle are well represented. It has two 30 round Bakelite magazines taped together.

Another unique figure that can be used in all Middle East conflicts. Nice sculpt and cast, ease on assembly with only two parts. It can create very nice scenes with the other figures of the series.
Highs: Nice posing for a loading on prone position figure. Detailed sculpt and easy to build with two parts.
Lows: Removing from casting block may need an effort. A few seamlines to clean.
Verdict: Useful figure for Mideast dioramas.
