Signifer's Strumgeschutz F8 Flammpanzer conversion fills a needed void in the current line of Stug kits. It is well designed, and will fit the Dragon, Gunze Sangyo or Revel F8 kits.
It comes packed in a sturdy zip-lock bag, with a color photo card of the completed conversion stapled over the top. Inside the bag are an instructions sheet, Signifer's kit list, and 6 resin parts on four sprues. The quality of the castings are superb, as there are no voids, airbubbles or significant warpage present. Some care will need to be exercised de-sprueing as some of the parts are very delicate and the sprue attachments large.
Construction of the kit will be very straight foward as all that is really needed is to remove the two vertical armor extensions from either side of the gun openening, de-sprue the parts, and glue them all into position.
conclusion
Signifier has hit a home run with this conversion kit, not only is the subject matter great, but the quality of the castings, instructions and even the package art are top notch. This is a must have for Stug-o-philes. If a little more thought had been given to the attachment points of the parts to the resin sprue plugs this kit would have earned a 10 out of 10.
The kit can be obtained directly from Signifer via their website.
Thank you to Signifer for kindly supplying the review sample.
