Review:
MacOne Models is an aftermarket company from Spain offering high-quality AFV and diorama accessories. This review covers the latest addition to the company catalogue, a set of Pelican boxes in 1/35 scale: Plastic Boxes PELICAN (MAC35165).
The set is packed in a plastic blister box, featuring a box art image which displays contents of the set. Opening the box reveals 22 resin pieces; each case is cast separately while the smaller pieces are supplied on two casting blocks. The molding is really good and I found no imperfections in the resin pieces, no seam lines or air bubbles, with an impressive amount of details nicely delivered in scale.
The kit contains 11 cases in 4 variants of different sizes:
- medium case (laptop case),
- medium case,
- large case,
- long gun case.
One of the large cases can be displayed open with the protective convoluted foam covering the inside surfaces. 6 case handles are supplied separately (5 cases are cast without the handles, so you get one extra handle if necessary), as well as 4 tiny latches (again, only 2 are needed to detail the lid of the open case, so the extra latches are a bonus).
The cases supplied in this set are a product of 3D design by Hamann Studio and represent Pelican cases really well, from the characteristic shape of the cases to the exterior and interior details. Since Pelican cases come in variety of colors, these pieces can prove a focal point in many modern day vehicles and dioramas.
Conclusion:
Plastic Boxes PELICAN set (MAC35165) from MacOne Models contains 11 Pelican cases (4 different versions) in 1/35 scale. The cases are nicely cast with clearly identifiable details nicely delivered in scale. Altogether, this set is a very welcomed addition for modelers interested in building modern day vehicles and dioramas.
SUMMARY
